Grow milkweed, feed monarchs.
Plant your own patch of native milkweed in your Sacramento yard!
We believe that all land can be used to grow beneficial plants, and want to make it easier for those who choose to contribute to pollinator and native insect gardening in Sacramento Valley.
Interested in planting milkweed?
Here’s how it works:
Learn about growing pesticide free milkweed and other pollinator plants, and decide whether your yard can be a home for new milkweed and pollinator seedlings. If you decide to include milkweed in your garden, select a location and picture how the naturally wild look of milkweed or pollinator plants will add to your garden aesthetics.
After deciding milkweed is right for you, submit a form requesting plants. We’ll arrange a pickup in the Sacramento area.
Plan to add new plants to your garden by preparing the soil and watering or irrigation system. Irrigation isn’t required, but watering during the first year after planting is very important. Drip irrigation is the easiest way to ensure your milkweed survive.
Plant your milkweed and/or pollinator plants soon after you arrive home from the pick up.
Email with any questions. We will replace any dead or dying seedlings with new ones if available.
